
At the forthcoming Yango Mobility Digital Awards, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, will be given an honorary award in appreciation of his exceptional contributions to Ghana’s digital transformation.
A team from Yango, a well-known ride-hailing service, made a courtesy call to the Minister to let him know about the award. The Minister’s unwavering efforts to advance innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital inclusion in Ghana have earned her this esteemed award.
Yango has been at the forefront of advancing digital mobility and innovation as a major participant in Ghana’s ICT ecosystem. Through its Digital Mobility Awards, the company has been honoring exceptional drivers and partners in Ghana and other nations, such as Ethiopia.
Yango has been actively committed in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Ghana, thus its efforts reach beyond the ride-hailing business.
For example, Yango collaborated with Zindi Africa to host the Accra Mobility Prediction Hackathon, which gathered more than 200 data science students and IT enthusiasts to create creative answers to Accra’s mobility problems.
