Multiple top personalities around the world tested positive for the novel coronavirus, and were treated and discharged.
However, the most recent to be tested positive is Novak Djokovic, the world’s No. 1 men’s tennis player. Djokovic tested positive only days in the wake of celebrating topless at a Serbian dance club.
Interestingly, the tennis genius was the coordinator of the Adria Tour Exhibition competition, which was dropped before the final after three players (Grigor Dimitrov, Borna Coric, and Victor Troicki) tested positive for the virus. Following the wiping out of the competition, Djokovic says he and his wife, Jelena, came back to Belgrade where they were both promptly tested positive.
Djokovic along with some other stars were seen celebrating together at Lafayette Cuisine Cabaret Club in Belgrade before being tested positive. Fortunately for him, his children were tested negative.
He said;
“result is positive just as is Jelena’s, while our children’s are negative,”. I am extremely sorry for each individual case of infection. I hope that it will not complicate anyone’s health situation and that everyone will be fine.”
Speaking more about the infection, he further stated:
“The moment we arrived in Belgrade we went to be tested,” Djokovic said in a statement. “My result is positive just as is Jelena’s, while our children’s are negative.
“Everything we did in the past month, we did with a pure heart and sincere intentions. Our tournament meant to united and share a message of solidarity and compassion throughout the region.
“We organized the tournament at the moment when the virus has weakened, believing that the conditions for hosting the Tour had been met. Unfortunately, the virus is still present, and it is a new reality that we are still learning to cope and live with.”
“I am extremely sorry for each individual case of infection. I hope that it will not complicate anyone’s health situation and that everyone will be fine.”
Meanwhile, Djokovic had previously said he would refuse being inoculated against the coronavirus because he is “opposed to vaccination.”
