Cristiano Ronaldo Honoured With A Special Award As UEFA Champions League All-Time Top Scorer

Cristiano Ronaldo has been given the Unsurpassed UEFA Champions League top scorer at the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League draw ceremony in Monaco.

Aleksander eferin, president of UEFA, presented him with the honor in recognition of his remarkable legacy in the most prestigious competition in the world.

During the inaugural 2024/25 UEFA Champions League 36-team league phase draw ceremony on August 29 at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, Ronaldo’s accomplishments in Europe’s premier club competition over the course of more than 18 years were recognized.

In 183 appearances, the forward from Sporting Clube de Portugal, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus has scored 140 Champions League goals. He is currently leading the scoring charts, 11 goals ahead of Lionel Messi and 46 goals ahead of Robert Lewandowski, who is in third place.

Ronaldo has scored the most goals in seven Champions League seasons, more than any other player. He has scored eight goals in Manchester United’s successful 2007/08 season and 15 goals in Real Madrid’s successful 2017/18 campaign.

He also holds the record for most goals scored in a Champions League season. In 2013/14, he scored 17 goals, including one in the final against Atlético de Madrid after extra time.

The forward from Portugal is the only player to have scored in three separate Champions League finals (2008, 2014, and 2017), making him the first player since 1992 to win the competition five times. He has also won it once with Manchester United and four times with Real Madrid.

He also holds the record for the longest scoring streak in the Champions League, scoring in 11 consecutive matches between June 2017 and April 2018. Additionally, Ronaldo has a remarkable eight Champions League hat tricks.

The recipient of multiple Ballon d’Or awards and the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award is also the most prolific player ever in men’s international football and the all-time leading scorer in all UEFA club competition (145 goals, 197 appearances).
