Daddy Lumba’s Family Are Making Things Worse

Entertainment personality MC Yaa Yeboah has called on the Manhyia Palace to take over the funeral arrangements of legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba if possible.

Speaking on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review on Saturday, November 8, 2025, she expressed concern about the growing controversy and confusion surrounding the organization of the late musician’s funeral.

According to MC Yaa Yeboah, the level of disagreement and public noise over the ceremony has become excessive and is gradually tarnishing the reputation of the family and the legacy of the late icon.

“I think if possible, Manhyia should take the funeral from the family of Daddy Lumba. The brouhaha and noise surrounding it are too much, and the family is only making things worse,” she stated.

She added that in situations involving personalities of national and cultural significance, traditional authorities like Manhyia could step in to ensure order, unity, and respect are maintained.

MC Yaa Yeboah further appealed to fans and the general public to avoid taking sides, urging all parties to work together to give the late musician a dignified farewell befitting his stature in Ghanaian music history.

Some fans support her suggestion, while others believe the family should be allowed to handle the funeral privately.
