Daniel Dubois’ Battle With Joseph Parker Is In A Limbo

Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker

On Saturday, February 22, Daniel Dubois is set to defend his title against Joseph Parker. However, promoter Frank Warren is searching for a possible replacement, and the IBF heavyweight champion reported feeling ill on Thursday.

A doctor is examining Daniel Dubois because of concerns that he might have to withdraw from his defense of the world heavyweight title in Riyadh.

Before he was scheduled to participate in the last press conference, Dubois declared his illness. Less than a day had passed since he declared himself eager to face the former world champion from New Zealand.

In order to fight Parker in a non-title bout, promoter Frank Warren started looking for a late provisional replacement right away.

According to Ring Magazine, David Adeleye, Mourad Aliev, and Lawrence Okolie are some of the candidates under consideration.

Two of the best heavyweights in the world will square off in the Saudi Arabian bout.

This is expected to be Dubois’ second title defense; his first came in September, when he stunned Anthony Joshua at Wembley.

Before knocking out the former two-time unified heavyweight champion in the fifth round, he had already dropped him four times.

It appears that Dubois is the favorite to win this fight and successfully defend his title.
