Date For Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards Out!!

Multichoice has announced the date for the eighth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). Organizers have booked May 14 as the date for the award ceremony.

They announced this during a press conference held on Thursday, March 17, 2022.

As indicated by MultiChoice Group, they have received a lot of quality entries from across the landmass for this release of the AMVCAs and are satisfied to unveil the final waitlist of nominees, which organizers are sure exemplify the greatness of the awards.

These organized events will feature a celebration of fashion, innovation, food and African culture. There will also be board conversations and film screenings from Africa Magic’s MultiChoice Talent Factory, industry meetings, and contests for advanced content makers and growing fashion designers.

The eight-day event will start with an Opening Night on Saturday, May 7. This will be trailed by a very first AMVCA runway show in association with Bella Naija Style on Sunday, May 8. On Monday, May 9, will also feature MultiChoice Talent Factory Day with film screenings and board conversations by students of the MTF Academy.

For this edition, nominees have been affirmed in 33 categories including the recently introduced Best Online Social Content Creator category.

This year’s Best Soundtrack winner will take home N1 million sponsored by Pepsi, organisers said.

Meanwhile, a live broadcast event hosted by actors Adesua Etomi-Wellington and Daniel Etim-Effiong will be held on March 19 to announce the year’s nominations.

For this edition, Africa Magic announced a new category for — Best Online Social Content Creator and the return of the — Best Africa Magic Original Drama Series and Best Africa Magic Original Comedy Series, bringing the total number of categories to 33.

12 categories will be available to viewers’ vote and 21 will be chosen by the AMVCA board of judges headed by veteran producer, Victor Okhai. A portion of other categories include:- Best Movie for Southern, East and West Africa, Best Director and Best Cinematographer.
