
An important turning point in Ghana’s cultural and automotive history was reached on Sunday, June 1, 2025, when the Despite Auto Museum was formally opened in East Legon, Accra.
Under the direction of well-known businessman Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, the museum features a collection of luxury and vintage cars that reflects his love of automotive excellence and history.
As the guest of honor, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, was among the notable guests that graced the star-studded ceremonial opening.
The event’s significance was increased by the large number of distinguished visitors that came, including Ibrahim Mahama, former President John Agyekum Kufuor, former Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong, and billionaire road contractor Kofi Job.
The event gave spectators an insight into the rich tapestry of automotive history through guided tours of the museum’s exhibits, cultural displays, and live performances by gospel performers Piesie Esther and Empress Gifty Adorye.
