Destroying Businesses Owned By Political Opponents Is Hindering Opportunities -Mahama

John Dramani Mahama

Ghana’s former President John Dramani Mahama has ‘weeped’ over the demeanor of African Governments who reliably target businesses owned by their political rivals.

As indicated by Mr Mahama, a contributor to the issue for not having more rich African businesses is because of most governments targeting organisations created by their political opponents.

He is therefore asking the African government not to track down the joy in obliterating businesses for political reasons.

Mr Mahama was speaking at the 2nd edition of the Afro-heritage Conference and Awards in Lagos, Nigeria, whilst answering questions in a panel discussion.

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said:

“We must not be afraid for our business people to succeed, we must not be afraid to have rich Africans. “Governments must not come and think that because some other governments created this business, then we must kill it. That’s part of the problem that we have. We must believe in ourselves, in adversity comes opportunities.”

Mr Mahama also presented a defense for African leaders to view in a serious way interest in youngsters to make innovations that will affect the ordinary citizens on the continent.
