Digital Equity Is A Cornerstone Of A Better Future— Ursula Owusu-Ekuful

Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful (MP), Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, has stated that digital equity is essential to a prosperous digital future.

When she made these remarks, she was giving a speech at the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

In her address, the minister stated that it is essential to address the digital divide by ensuring that everyone has access to affordable internet and digital literacy, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

“This vision includes investing in digital skills training and promoting inclusivity in the tech industry to foster innovation that reflects diverse perspectives”, she added.

“My vision for leveraging these technologies begins with harnessing the power of data and digital Infrastructure, developing robust digital ecosystems enable better climate modeling and predictive analytics to combat climate change” Mrs. Owusu Ekuful noted.

Through Internet of Things (IoT) and smart technologies, Ghana can reduce our carbon footprint significantly and promote a sustainable future.

On medical services, she noticed that the assembly of man-made intelligence, telemedicine, and blockchain innovation can reform patient consideration clinical records the board.

The standards for telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICTs) are set by WTSA, a global platform.

Ghana’s participation in the WTSA demonstrates its dedication to technological development. Ghana positions itself for improved digital infrastructure, increased innovation, and global competitiveness by contributing to global ICT standards.

The Minister emphasized that Ghana’s position in the global digital economy is strengthened by this participation, paving the way for a more connected, innovative, and prosperous future.

Ghana is poised to benefit from digital transformation, including improved healthcare, education, and financial inclusion, as the country continues to actively shape global ICT standards.
