A former Ghana Football stakeholder, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has forecast that the country’s football will not survive under the current leadership.
Nduom, who owns and finances the Elmina Sharks of the Ghana Division One League, claims that until things are done correctly, the nation’s football will not advance under Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku.
The inability of Ghanaian football to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, which will be held in Morocco, is a stark reminder of the sport’s recent decline and regression under the current administration.
Football administrators and other interested parties have expressed their ire and worries about the recent disaster with this subpar performance.
To save Ghanaian talents, a number of people have actually demanded that the Black Stars and even the Football Association be dissolved immediately.
However, disbanding the national team is the least of the issues, according to Mr. Nduom, the former owner of a Ghana Premier League team.
“You can sack the coaches, the players but if you don’t restructure the administration of football – GFA seriously, nothing good will happen any time soon,” the owner of the defunct GN Bank expressed in a post on Facebook.
