On Thursday, September 4, 2025, Ghana and Chad played to a 1-1 draw in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.
In the 17th minute, Jordan Ayew scored Ghana’s first goal, his sixth of the qualifying campaign, after tapping in an assist from Mohammed Kudus.
But in the 89th (or 90th) minute, just before halftime, Célestin Ecua scored a spectacular long-range goal to give Chad a thrilling equalizer and deny Ghana a chance to win all three points.
With this results, Ghana remains at the top of Group I, although their lead has been reduced. They currently have 16 points from seven games, with Chad gaining their first point of the qualifiers.
