Former Joy FM and JoyNews journalist Emefa Apawu has been hired as the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation’s (PHDC) Corporate Communications Manager. She left the Multimedia Group and started her new position in March 2025.
As a project supported by the government, the PHDC seeks to establish Ghana as a petroleum hub in West Africa. The former Akufo-Addo administration led it, and President John Dramani Mahama’s administration is carrying it forward.
After years of working with multimedia, Emefa Apawu has recently moved from journalism to a government position. She has benefited from her reputation as a flawless communicator.
Other media figures like Raymond Acquah and Paa Kwesi Asare are also joining the new administration, therefore her appointment is a part of a larger trend.
