John Jinapor

The Attorney General has been formally asked by Energy Minister John Jinapor to look into the disappearance of more than 1,300 containers from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) from Tema Port.

This move comes after an investigative report found that 1,347 containers were missing from 2,491 uncleared containers, of which only 1,134 were accounted for.

Minister Jinapor has assigned the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) the responsibility of carrying out a forensic inquiry to track down the missing containers and determine responsibility, in addition to requesting the Attorney General’s assistance.

In order to support a genuine reconciliation process, the honorable minister has also asked the National Security Secretariat for help in securing the remaining containers.
