Evan Ferguson’s Move To West Ham Is Complete

Evan Ferguson, a striker for Brighton, has returned to his old manager Graham Potter after spending the rest of the season on loan at West Ham.

For the final 17 minutes of Saturday’s 7-0 loss to Nottingham Forest, the 20-year-old made his injury comeback, marking his first appearance in six weeks.

Ferguson’s wages will be paid by West Ham, but the club is under no duty or option to sign him.

On Sunday, February 2, Ferguson completed his medical examination. Ferguson will wear shirt number 34.

“I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring Evan in on loan until the end of the season. He’s a player we obviously know very well, so I’m grateful to the board for bringing him in.

“He’s got plenty of quality attributes as a striker that we believe will benefit the group over the course of the coming months. We’re excited to integrate him into the squad and see him in action in the weeks to come”, said Potter.

“It feels good to be here. Seeing the stadium and being here today, I’ve got a very good feeling. I can see and know how big West Ham United is. It was a big opportunity for me to come here. I know the gaffer well and look forward to working under him again. I want to come in and do my best for the club, score goals, and see where we get to”, said Ferguson.

Ferguson had been absent for some time, and a player who was once linked to major clubs for enormous sums of money now needs regular games to catch up, which Fabian Hurzeler did not seem to be able to provide.

Chelsea was keeping an eye on events, and Tottenham and Bournemouth were also in the running for Ferguson. Everton was interested as well, but they knew there were other teams in line first.
