Ex-President Mahama Enthroned As A Special Chief

Ghana’s former President and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has been enstooled as the Development Chiet of the Penyi traditional area in the Ketu North District on Friday October 13.

At a beautiful durbar of chiefs and people of Penyi, Mr Mahama was enstooled and outdoored with the title ‘Togbi Dunenyo |, the Nugoryifia of the Penyi Traditional Area.

Mr Mahama who was the special guest of honour at the Penyi Nugoryiza was welcomed into the local area with a mammoth group in the midst of drumming and dancing.

The paramount chief of Penyi, Togbiga Dadzi V was thankful to Mr Mahama for honoring their invitation.

Besides, the chief used the potential opportunity to thank the NDC for various development projects in his area and requested more when the NDC gets back to power.

Penyi Nugoryiza is a yearly festival of the chiefs and people of Penyi, one of the four traditional areas in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region.
