A group of 25 Colombian women cocoa farmers were welcomed to Ghana by Dr. James Kofi Kutsoati, the Operations Head of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), and Dr. Francis Baah, the Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Agronomy & Quality Control.

In order to empower women in cocoa farming and foster cross-cultural knowledge exchange between Ghanaian and Colombian farmers, the Colombian team is in Ghana as part of the Female Cocoa Growers Mentors Program.

Under the direction of Colombian Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Daniel Garcés Carabalí, the delegation pledged to expand their knowledge by visiting Ghana’s well-known cocoa industry for six days.

Representatives from Fedecacao and Fondo Mujer, members of the National Federation of Cocoa Growers of Colombia (FEDECACAO), accompanied the delegation.
