Ghana has qualified for each of the previous seven editions, but they have never advanced beyond the group stage.

Based on the hopes and dreams of millions of Ghanaians, coach Basigi and his team are preparing to end this streak and make history in Colombia.

The Black Princesses have accomplished a great deal since they defeated Nigeria to win the inaugural WAFU B U-20 Women’s Cup on June 3, 2023.

Ghana’s skipper, Stella Nyamekye, was named the competition’s best player, while Afi Amenyeku brought back home the best goalkeeper award. Their series of wins went on at the thirteenth African Games held in Ghana in March 2024, where they were crowned heroes of the women’s football competition.

This will be the Black Princesses’ seventh historic journey to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup. Meanwhile, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the African Games has appointed Sports Management, a British agency, to secure sponsorships for the team.
