Ahead of the draw on Thursday, December 5, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 procedures have been finalized, with the 32 teams divided into four pots of eight teams each.
The top 32 clubs in the world have been divided into four groups of eight teams each. Throughout the group stage and, contingent on athletic performance, into the knockout stage, the fundamental draw principles will guarantee geographical diversity and competitive balance.
The draw will take place in Miami, Florida, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 13:00 local time (19:00 CET).
The confederation rankings that were used as part of the competition’s qualification process were applied to determine each club’s position within their confederation and assign them to a pot accordingly.
This allowed the qualified clubs for the first-ever 32-team FIFA Club World Cup to be divided into four pots of eight teams each.
Together with the four top-ranked South American teams, the top four European teams make up Pot 1, and the remaining eight European teams make up Pot 2.
The top two teams from Asia, Africa, and the North, Central America, and Caribbean regions, respectively, as well as the two remaining clubs from South America, make up Pot 3.
The remaining two teams from Asia, Africa, and the North, Central America, and Caribbean regions, as well as the representative of Oceania and the host nation’s team, Inter Miami CF, make up Pot 4.
