FirstBank Ghana Appoints Sarkodie As Its Official Brand Ambassador

FirstBank Ghana has appointed rapper Sarkodie as its brand ambassador, according to the head of retail banking of the company, Allen Quaye.

In an effort to strategically align with the identity, values, and vision of the FirstBank Group, the bank recently changed its name to FirstBank Ghana from FBNBank Ghana.

The name change lines up with the bank’s obligation to its clients, partners, and the community it serves.

The name change is being embraced by the FirstBank Group across its auxiliaries in Africa and Europe to adjust the bank to its parent brand so it can enjoy the brand equity and strong heritage built by FirstBank Nigeria in its over 130 years of banking experience.

As indicated by Allen Quaye, the choice of Sarkodie as a brand ambassador is strategic.

“We have also brought on board Sarkodie. So Sarkodie is a great brand and of course, FirstBank is also a great bank. It’s an old brand and has been refreshed over 130 years, has stayed relevant to the communities over the years.”

“So these are two great brands that are coming together. They have found common grounds to leverage their corporate social responsibility that would impact on the youth,” Quaye said during an interview with Asaase radio.
