Four Ghanaian entertainers have been nominated in the 2020 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), after the outfit released its rundown of nominations.
Ghana has 17 nominations, with actors Joselyn Dumas, Adjetey Annan, Filmmaker Shirley Frimpong-Manso and singer Cina Soul making the list.
Among the selections were 4 entertainers picked for various categories for their individual functions in their movies.
Joselyn Dumas who plays Omoye, the spouse of a resigned armed force official (Jim Iyke) in the Drama ‘Cold Feet’ was selected for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
Alphonse Menyo who plays Daniel in Pascal Aka’s Gold Coast Lounge also scored a selection in the Best Actor in Leading Role class.
Adjetey Anang was also named for the Best Actor in Supporting Role award for his role in Gold Coast Lounge.
That said, Artist Cina Soul acquired her first AMAA selection for Best Young/Promising Actor. She played ‘Ama’ in the widely praised film Gold Coast Lounge.
Shirley Frimpong-Manso’s Perfect Picture: Ten Years Later had 3 nods – Achievement in Screenplay, Editing and Production Design.
Gold Coast Lounge’s Director Pascal Aka was likewise selected for Best Director and for Best Film.
The movie scored 4 other nominations including Achievement in Cinematography, Achievement in Soundtrack, Achievement in Production Design and Achievement in Sound.
The film Heroes of Africa; Tetteh Quarshie also had 3 nominations namely Achievement in Soundtrack, Achievement in Visual Effect and Achievement in Costume Design.
Animated movie, ‘I am Living In Ghana Get Me Out of Here’, was also nominated in the Best Animation classification.
