Prince Harry and Meghan Markle podcast Archetypes will not be renewed for a second season on Spotify.

According to a spokesperson for Archewell Productions who spoke with “The Wall Street Journal,” Meghan will continue to produce additional content for the audience of Archetypes on a different platform.

The Archetypes podcast was created by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their partnership with Spotify, which lasted for two and a half years. It debuted in August 2022.

This podcast featured well-known guests like Paris Hilton, Mariah Carey, Serena Williams, Mindy Kaling, and others to talk about the labels that keep women from succeeding.

On November 29, 2022, the final episode, titled “Man-ifesting A Cultural Shift,” starred Trevor Noah, Andy Cohen, and Judd Apatow. The duration of each episode was approximately one hour.

The Archetypes podcast featuring Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is not being renewed for a second season, according to reports.

“Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together,” according to a joint statement released on Thursday, June 15.

This information follows Spotify’s announcement earlier this month that they will rework their strategy and eliminate approximately 200 jobs.

According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not able to receive full payment for the nearly $20 million deal they signed in 2020 because they did not produce enough content.

The podcast only had twelve episodes. In September, Meghan Markle also paused the Archetype podcast due to the official mourning period following Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also signed an agreement with Netflix for an expected $100 million. Their Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan” was well received.
