Ghana And Russia Agree To Promote Exclusive Travel Exchange Programmes

On Monday, April 28, 2025, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie (MP) and the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts received a courtesy call from a three-member Russian delegation headed by Mr. Viktor Kolikov.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential travel and tourism cooperation between Ghana and the Russian Federation.

The group, which was composed of professionals from the private sector, indicated a great desire to develop closer relationships with Ghana’s private sector in the fields of cooperative destination marketing, travel exchange programs, and tourist development.

They underlined the potential for more Russian tourists to visit Ghana through focused advertising and bilateral agreements, as well as the country’s expanding image as a destination for cultural and heritage tourism.

The delegation was welcomed by Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, who also stated that Ghana is amenable to strategic alliances that advance global travel and cultural diplomacy.

She stressed the value of investing in digital marketing and tourist infrastructure while outlining the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives to broaden Ghana’s tourism offers.

Some stakeholders including Mr. Divine K. Owusu-Ansah, the Ministry’s Director for Culture and Creative Arts, were also at the meeting.
