
In order to discuss further collaboration between Ghana and the Netherlands in the cocoa industry, H.E. Jeroen Verheul, the Dutch Ambassador to Ghana, met with the COCOBOD management, which was led by Dr. Ransford Abbey, the organization’s CEO.
Among other topics, the EUDR, climate resilience, mechanization, and sustainable cocoa production were discussed.
In his speech, Dr. Randy Abbey emphasized how crucial it is for COCOBOD to put the welfare of cocoa farmers first. He also urged the Netherlands and other EU partners to help improve the lives of these farmers.
Additionally, H.E. Daniel Garcés Carabalí, the Colombian Ambassador to Ghana, visited COCOBOD to discuss the potential for a program of exchange between Ghanaian and Colombian women cocoa farmers, as well as to share information on coffee production.
