The ITU-T Study Groups’ work program, working methods, and structure for the 2025-2029 study period were also heavily influenced by the WTSA-24.
International mobile telecommunications, immersive and widespread real-time communications, deterministic networking, and the ambient Internet of Things (IoT) were among the important topics discussed by the Assembly.
Regional telecommunications organizations held preparatory meetings in advance of the event to consolidate regional positions on important issues.
The standards and recommendations adopted during the assembly will guide global development in telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICTs). As a result, the outcomes of WTSA-24 will significantly shape the future.
Numerous government officials from communications and ICT-related ministries, telecom operators, service providers, and tech industry leaders participated in the Assembly.
Along with digital entrepreneurs, startups, and representatives from international organizations and development agencies, attendees included researchers, academics, policymakers, and regulators.
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) sets the global standardization agenda for the next four years at the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA).
