Ghana Secures A Special Seat On The Board Of The Shelter Afrique Development Bank

Ghana’s Ministry of Works and Housing has been granted a prestigious seat on the Shelter Afrique Development Bank board. This huge accomplishment was made during the 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Shelter Afrique, held from June 11-13, 2024, in Kigali, Rwanda.

African housing ministers, including Ghana’s Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, looked into ways to make it easier for citizens to get access to affordable housing and deliver less expensive units. Shareholders from Member States, the African Development Bank, and Africa-Re were among the key stakeholders who gathered to discuss the topic of sustainable partnerships in the value chain of affordable housing finance. The need for collaborative efforts to address Africa’s housing crisis and promote sustainable development was emphasized in these discussions.
