
In the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship final, which took place at the University of Ghana Stadium, Ghana’s U-15 girls’ team, the Black Damsels, defeated Uganda 2-1 to win the title.
Under the direction of head coach Joyce Boatey-Agyei, the Black Damsels displayed tenacity and skill despite the prospect of severe rains disrupting the final. They defeated the reigning champions, South Africa, 3-2 in the semi-finals on their way to the final.
The players will take home $300,000 in cash as champions, and Uganda, the runners-up, will get $200,000.
This triumph not only demonstrates the breadth of skill in Ghanaian youth football but also the nation’s dedication to producing the game’s future stars.
Meanwhile, the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship was lost by their rival Ghana’s U-15 boys’ team. They defeated Uganda 2-1 to win a bronze medal in the third-place playoff game at the University of Ghana Stadium.
