Seth Gyimah, better known as Freezy Mcbones, a Ghanaian boxer and chef, has switched his nationality from Ghana to the United Kingdom (UK).

Abraham Neequaye, president of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), made it clear that Freezy Mcbones switched his nationality prior to entering the boxing ring.

Abraham Neequaye claims that Freezy Mcbones applied for a license from the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) when he wanted to try his hand at boxing. However, at the last minute, he decided to fight as a UK citizen.

“We sent him a message. And they can check it from Freezy himself. Before he fought in the UK, he came to Ghana to get a Ghana Boxing Authority license. He came for our license but when he wanted to fight and they wanted to get a release letter from us, he changed it to fight for the British. He was supposed to come for a release letter from us but he said he wanted to fight as UK national.”

The GBA President added ;

“If the person has our licence and he wants to fight and then puts our licence down and picks another licence to fight under that licence, how do you expect me to go and beg this young gentleman to come, no. We have a lot of boxers here that we need to develop”

In April, following his victory over Darryl Sharp at the Copper Boxing Arena in London, Freezy first gained national attention. He went viral with everyone talking about him.
