524 African Diaspora members have been welcomed to Ghana by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
The President exhorted them to band together and support the growth of the nation.
The swearing-in ceremony is a component of the “Beyond the Return” initiative, which was started in 2019 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the first African American being brought to America.
The program’s objectives are to improve diaspora engagement and reestablish Ghana’s connection to its common heritage.
In order to make Ghana a better place for everyone, President Akufo-Addo urged the newcomers to contribute their knowledge and experiences.
This action is a major step toward President Akufo-Addo’s 2018 vision in Washington, DC, to bring Africans back together with their diasporic brothers and sisters.
