Ghana’s On-screen character, Gloria Sarfo, has won the award for Best Supporting Actress at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA). The 7th edition of the Awards was held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday 14th March, 2020.

Gloria was named for her role in one of Ghana’s finest filmmakers, Shirley Frimping Manso’s ‘Flawless Picture: 10 Years Later’. Gloria Safo was the sole Ghanaian named during this year’s AMVCA.

The on-screen character beat Nigeria’s Toni Tones, Eucharia Anunobi, Tina Mba, Mary Lazarus who were assigned for their role in ‘King of Boys’, ‘The Foreigner’s God’, ‘The Set-Up’ and ‘Size 12’ to win the award.

Preceding the occasion, Gloria was very optimistic of her chances to win. She was also thankful that her work was perceived despite the fact that she didn’t have numerous scenes in that film.

As per Gloria, the selection implied the difficult work she put in to execute that job was valued.

Unfortunately, as a result of the episode of Coronavirus pandemic, Gloria Sarfo couldn’t venture out to Nigeria to get the honor.
