According to Dr. Randy Abbey, the CEO of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), a new cocoa farmgate price will be disclosed in August 2025.

He said that this price is expected to be higher than that of Ghana’s neighbor, Ivory Coast, which also produces cocoa.

Mr. Abbey emphasized that by providing a more competitive rate than that of Ivory Coast, this pricing policy aims to support the livelihoods of Ghanaian cocoa producers.

According to him, this program demonstrates Ghana’s dedication to improving the welfare of its cocoa growers and securing its place in the world market.

During a recent working visit to a number of cocoa growers and COCOBOD employees in the Western North Region, he made these remarks.
