God Is The Source Of My Power – Asantehene

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has spoken about the source of his authority.

Since he assumed control of the Golden Stool, Asantehene says that one of his prayers has been to never forget that he is just like all men, including those who take care of his needs.

“God put me here. It is not by my will, beauty, strength or wisdom. His will has put me here. If I forget that he is the source of my authority, I will not progress. What I never forget is that I’m seated here because of His grace. The labourer breathes the same air I breathe so if I fail to respect such people, I err. The cleaner and all people are just like I am just that I have been appointed to sit here. That doesn’t give me the right to treat them badly. All men are important for what I do.”

According to Asantehene, he always treats people with the respect and dignity they deserve because they are human beings, regardless of their ability or social status.

“I pray that I never forget this. I want to leave a legacy that I respected and treated all men with dignity.”

When the Methodist Church of Ghana’s leadership called on him at the Manhyia Palace on April 19, 2024, he made these statements.

In order to make his reign easier, he appealed to the clergy to include him in their prayers.

“I also seek wisdom and direction to reign. Your prayers will guide me in doing this.”

The delegation who were at Manhyia included: the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev Paul Kwabena Boafo, the Past Presiding Bishop of the Church, Most Rev Prof. Emmanuel Asante and Lay President of the church, Brother Kwasi Attah-Antwi.
