Tiger Woods revealed on Tuesday that his mother, Kultida Woods, had passed away.
The golf superstar wrote in a heartfelt message that his mother was a “force of nature” and his “biggest fan,” and that his success was largely due to her unwavering support.
Born in Thailand and married to Earl Woods in 1969, Kultida played a significant role in Tiger’s career by establishing discipline and promoting customs like wearing a red shirt on Sundays, which she felt was his power color.
She had a strong relationship with her grandchildren, Sam and Charlie, and was frequently present at his tournaments. Her death’s cause has not been revealed.
At the time of her passing, Kultida Woods was eighty-one years old.
