Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate Akosua Manu has called the “reset agenda” of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government a “bloodless coup.” She said this on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, when she appeared on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily.
She denounced the acts of President Mahama’s administration, citing the recent suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo and the contentious raid on the home of former Governor Ernest Addison of the Bank of Ghana.
According to Akosua Manu, these incidents are not attempts to strengthen democracy or enhance governance, but rather a deliberate attack on Ghana’s democratic institutions. She underlined that such conduct weakens public confidence in the judiciary and the rule of law.

Additionally, she called the Chief Justice’s suspension a “cheap attempt at political equalization,” cautioning that it would undermine public trust in the court and indicate a concerning pattern of political meddling in autonomous institutions.
Manu expressed her deep concern about the governing style of the current administration and how it affects Ghana’s democratic system.
