
Herbert Krapa, the deputy minister of energy and chair of the ECG board, has been confirmed as Ghana’s official energy minister.
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Eugene Arhin, director of communications at the Jubilee House, signed a statement issued by the presidency announcing Herbert Krapa’s new appointment.
Mr. Krapa served as the Ministry of Energy’s Minister of State prior to his recent appointment.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has appointed Mr. Herbert Krapa as the substantive Minister for Energy, effective Tuesday, 19 November 2024.
“Mr Krapa has served as Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy since his appointment on 15 July 2024, and, according to the President, has demonstrated exceptional diligence, professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to his duties, contributing significantly to the progress and stability of Ghana’s energy sector,’ the statement from the presidency read.
“In recognition of his hard work and leadership, President Akufo-Addo is confident that Mr Krapa will continue to distinguish himself in his new role, ensuring the continued growth and transformation of the energy sector in service to the nation,” the statement further read.
