In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, 82-year-old Harrison Ford, spoke about why he still proceeds to act and what keeps him inspired.
The Hollywood legend has continued to captivate audiences up until this point. He talked about his lifelong love for acting and what motivates him to stay in the industry in the interview.
Ford, who has appeared in great movies like “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones,” is currently appearing in the second season of the comedy series “Shrinking” on Apple TV+.
Ford responded when asked about his continued interest in acting,
“Oh man, I get out of it essential human contact.” His enjoyment of working with talented individuals was evident as he said, “I get to imagine with people that have great skill and experience…. It’s fun to work with these people.”
He enjoys creating art with his talented co-stars in “Shrinking,” starring Jason Segel and Jessica Williams.
The comedy series, which started its second season on October 16, has given Harrison Ford a stage to grandstand his comedic gifts while interfacing with a more youthful crowd.
In the interview, Harrison Ford also talked about how his approach to acting is heavily influenced by humor.
“I always enjoyed humor. I loved jokes. I loved the construction of jokes.” His appreciation for comedy derives from his father, a skilled joketeller. “When I was thinking about becoming an actor, I was ambitious for both kinds of work — serious drama and comedy,” he said.
The legendary actor believes that acting in comedic roles assists him with communicating his thoughts very well.
“I think I think with the same actor’s head about a joke as I do about a serious or emotional scene,” he added.
Ford’s capacity to consolidate humor and profound depth has made him a flexible actor fit for playing many roles.
Ford recalled his time playing as a clinic cook on Jimmy Kimmel Live. “I cut this part of my finger off within minutes,” he said, showing his left index finger.
He also worked for a young bank president and his job was just purchasing very expensive beef.
