How Katy Perry and Other Industry Women Flew Off To Space And Had A Successful Landing

On Monday, April 14, Blue Origin launched a group of women, including broadcast journalist Gayle King, Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez, and singer Katy Perry, into space and returned to Earth.

The ramp and scaffolding separated from Jeff Bezos’ rocket, the “New Shepard,” at 9:30 AM ET. A minute later, the rocket launched successfully, and at 9:38 AM, after reaching its apogee, the rocket started to descend again. By 9:39 AM, the rocket performed a “picture perfect landing” back on Earth, exactly where it launched, and at 9:41 AM, the capsule touched down.

Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner, and Kendall Jenner were among the celebrities spotted at the viewing area before the launch. Bezos was also on the ground, helping to open the capsule door and welcome the new space travelers who were returning, embracing Sanchez when she came out first. Next to emerge was Katy, who practically planted a kiss on the floor.

Sanchez was emotional when he returned to the ground and spoke of “full and utter delight and gratefulness” for the experience. “We are getting married, so I had to return!”

It was his fiancée’s turn to visit space, after Jeff Bezos had previously done so. The women made a relatively brief trip, traveling 62 miles above Earth to the Kármán line, which marks the separation between space and our atmosphere. The women were brought back to Earth by the capsule after a few minutes of weightlessness in space.

From blastoff to landing, the mission took roughly twelve minutes.

Before taking off for space with Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez, Katy Perry issued a final greeting to her admirers and well-wishers.

The performer posted a special message to her fans and well-wishers on her X account prior to boarding the spacecraft. “I Love You” is what Perry wrote in her social media post.

The actress-singer posted pictures of herself with the crew in their blue space suits before they departed for space.

Ahead of setting out to go into space, the actress-singer shared snaps of herself alongside the crew in their blue space suits.

Richard Branson Reacts To ‘Attacks’ Regarding His New Space Trip

Days after Perry was finalized to fly to space, the musician conversed with Elle, where she opened up about her interest in astronomy and space studies. Moreover, the singer revealed she was too excited to head out of the planet.

The reason why the women of the industry are taking a journey is for commercial purposes and to boost the space tourism industry.

Perry had revealed that she wants to “inspire young girls to go.

“If you had told me I’d be part of the first all-female crew in space, I would have believed you. Nothing was beyond my imagination as a child.”

Interestingly, the spaceship was completely automatic, with no pilot available inside the flight.
