
Renowned reggae artist Gramps Morgan has revealed that he was on the verge of collaborating with Ghanaian music legend Daddy Lumba before the singer’s untimely passing. According to Morgan, the two were planning to make “some amazing songs” together — a musical partnership that now remains a dream unrealized.
The Award-winning reggae artist shared a heartfelt revelation about his unfulfilled plans to work with the late Ghanaian music legend. According to the Jamaican singer, the two were preparing to collaborate on what he described as “some amazing songs” before Lumba’s unexpected death.
In an emotional statement, Gramps Morgan expressed his admiration for Daddy Lumba’s exceptional talent and influence in African music, describing him as one of the most soulful and authentic voices he had ever encountered.

“We were actually in talks to do some songs together,” Morgan revealed. “I truly believed that the world was going to hear something special from us — a powerful fusion of sounds from the Caribbean and Ghana.”
Gramps Morgan, who is best known as a member of the legendary Morgan Heritage reggae group, said he had always dreamed of bridging cultures through music and saw Lumba as the perfect collaborator for that vision.
“Lumba’s voice had so much soul, so much emotion. I felt a spiritual connection to his music. It’s heartbreaking to know that this project will never come to life,” he added.
