‘I’m Never Having A Funeral When I am Dead’ — Murphy

Eddie Murphy has stated that he does not want a funeral when he dies and hopes that his loved ones will permit him to “just go out quietly.”

During the promotion of his upcoming film ‘Beverly Hills Cop‘, the 63-year-old revealed that he has ten children from five different women. He made the sarcastic comment that the original 1984 film’s Beverly Hills Cop theme should be played at his funeral to make people “smile.”

When he thought about the movie soundtrack playing at his funeral, he laughed so hard that everyone looked at each other in confusion.

In an Instagram interview, he stated to film journalist Kevin McCarthy, “That’s just a joke, ’cause I’m never having a funeral.”

Eddie Murphy, 63, said that he doesn’t want a funeral and wants to die “just go out quietly” without any ‘noise’.

He added,

“They know not to, no funeral, no, just let me go out quietly.”

He said “They” refers to Eddie’s ten children as well as his longtime love, Australian model Paige Butcher, 44, whom he has been with since 2012.

During his 13-year marriage to Nicole Murphy, Eddie had five children: Bria, 34, Myles, 31, Shayne, 29, Zola, 24, and Bella, 21.

Eddie had a son named Christian with Tamara Hood, who is now 34 years old, before meeting Nicole and marrying her.

Eric McNeely, his 34-year-old son, is his eldest child. He had a romantic relationship with Paulette McNeely in 1989.

Eddie also has a 17-year-old daughter named Angel, whom he shares with Mel B, a member of the Spice Girls.

Eddie initially questioned the claim that he was Angel’s father, but when Angel was two months old, he took a DNA test to confirm his paternity.

Tracey Edmonds, Babyface’s ex-wife, was dating Eddie when he took the test. She married Eddie on New Year’s Day 2008 and split from him two weeks later.

He and Paige, who have been together for more than half a decade, also have two children together: eight-year-old Izzy and five-year-old Max.

After becoming a household name on Saturday Night Live, Eddie made his acting debut in the 1984 film Beverly Hills Cop.

In the first movie, Eddie’s character, Axel Foley, is a Detroit police officer who takes a break to go to Beverly Hills and look into the death of Mikey, his childhood friend.

The plot of the new movie now involves a conspiracy that puts Axel’s daughter’s safety in danger, played by Zola star Taylour Paige.

Axel finds himself returning to Beverly Hills from Detroit, where he meets up with some of the same people from the first movie.
