John Boadu

The former general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokorokoo” on Friday, November 22, stated that the Free SHS is one of the best initiatives President Akufo-Addo put in place to help the party win the December 7 elections.

He stated that he finds it hard to understand why some people disparage this supportive initiative that has benefited thousands of needy and defenseless people.

John Boadu added that the Free SHS has been incredibly helpful and beneficial to many young students who are brilliant but were “bedridden” in their homes due to financial constraints”

“In order to pay for their children’s tuition, some parents and guardians even went so far as to sell their possessions, such as expensive clothing and cocoa farms to take care of their wards’ education”, the former NPP General Secretary added.

“Many students performed exceptionally well on their BECE exams, but they were unable to continue their education due to a lack of parental support. After BECE, some people stayed at home for months or even years. all because they lacked the funds to continue their education”, he continued.

He used President Akufo-Addo as an example. John Boadu claims that the President’s grandfather never attended school, defying the perception that the President comes from a wealthy family.

“In order to support President Akufo-Addo’s father, who went on to become a lawyer and Chief Justice, the grandfather sold cocoa. He reciprocated by helping Akufo-Addo with all of his education”.

“Former President John Mahama also shares President Akufo-Addo’s story, but he was fortunate to have access to free education in the north so he could finish his studies”.

Dr. Bawumia Promises To Make The Creative Industry One Of The Biggest..

“Interestingly, Dr. Bawumia’s educational journey is comparable to that of former President Mahama”.

“Kwame, the only thing that brings the rich and the poor together to dine is education. And as of now, the Free SHS has greatly impacted the lives of numerous people.

“NDC was correct when they said that due to its high cost, we would not be able to implement the Free SHS at that time. In addition to operating costs, it cost us GHC 3 billion annually”, he ended.
