With an x-rated comment, UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria has sparked his verbal sparring match with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Topuria, who was born to Georgian parents in Germany, migrated to Spain as a young man and developed a passion for Real Madrid during Ronaldo’s illustrious nine-year stay in the Spanish capital.
When Topuria decisively defeated long-reigning featherweight king Alexander Volkanovski via second-round knockout in February of this year, he became Spain’s first UFC champion.
More than 75,000 supporters gathered at the Bernabeu to celebrate the 27-year-old’s victory, and he later enjoyed a parade.
However, Ronaldo, an MMA fan, stated before Topuria’s first title defense that Alexander Volkanovski was compromised before the fight at UFC 298 and that the Spaniard “talks too much.”
‘I like Max, he’s a tough guy,’ Ronaldo said. ‘[Topuria] speaks too much.’
He added: ‘I think when he beat Volk [Alexander Volkanovski], Volk wasn’t [ready] because of that kick [from Islam Makhachev], didn’t recover.’
‘But [Topuria] didn’t fight with the top guys’. If he beats Max, I will respect [him]. Never KO, this is why [Max] will be tough for Topuria.’
Topuria appears to have taken offense at the aforementioned comments. In response, he also said:
Ronaldo can ‘f*** himself’.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, according to the boxer, was “unable to distinguish between confidence and arrogance.”
Additionally, Topuria invited Lionel Messi, Ronaldo’s longtime rival, to his upcoming bout.

‘I saw a clip where he said that I’m all talk,’ Topuria told El Partidazo de Cope.
‘Cristiano, he always got something to say. I’m going to personally invite Messi because he lives there.’
‘I would like to fight the number one contender, who is Charles Oliveira. We have Messi, Ronaldo can f*** himself.’
In addition, Topuria mentioned a former champion as a possible opponent and stated that he would like to increase his weight to 155 pounds for his next fight.
