According to Rich Kid, a colleague artist who has a long history of working with Kanye West, the latter may be considering retiring.
After 10 studio albums and more than 20 years in the music business, Kanye West, who now goes by Ye West, is supposedly taking into account hanging up his music career.
After rapper Rich The Kid posted an alleged text message with Kanye on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, July 9, in which the 47-year-old father of four discussed his plans for retirement, news of the Donda hitmaker’s retirement made headlines.
“I am retiring from professional music. Not sure what else to do,” Ye purportedly wrote in the message.
Rich The Kid responded that people needed Kanye and his music and was trying to persuade him to reconsider.
Instead of planning a full retirement, the singer was seen encouraging Kanye to “take some time to chill.”
However, Rich The Kid promptly deleted his Instagram story and instead announced the release date for his upcoming album, “Life’s A Gamble,” after online speculation about Ye’s retirement went viral.
Fans accused the 31-year-old rapper of using the news of his retirement as a marketing tool because of this move.
On Rich The Kid’s ‘Life’s A Gamble’, Kanye West featured. The two artists have previously worked together successfully.
In addition, Ye and Ty recently worked together with Rich Kid on the song ‘Carnivals’, which serves as the album’s anthem and was released earlier this year. Ye recorded his fifth No with this song. 1 hit at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
West’s first EP, “Get Well Soon,” was released in December 2022 on Jay-Z’s now-defunct Roc-A-Fella Records. In February 2004, he released College Dropout, which came less than two years after his critically acclaimed debut album.
West has won 24 Grammy Awards and sold approximately 160 million records since entering the rap scene more than two decades ago. Ye also has 21 hits in the Top 10 and 157 entries in the Hot 100 Billboard chart.
