Rev. John Ntim Fodjour’s allegations of a suspected drug-laden flight landing at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) call for a comprehensive investigation to confirm the veracity of the situation, according to Henry Asante of the Movement for Change Communications Team.
He emphasized that situations of this size necessitate a nationalistic perspective and warned against approaching the matter via a political prism.
Mr. Asante stated that, he is surprised that the issue has taken a political turn and that the first step should be to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
He claims that although it is an extremely fascinating topic, excessive partisanship will prevent the country from ever coming to an agreement if appropriate caution is not exercised.
“I believe the level of politicization surrounding the matter is no laughing matter. This matter raised by Rev. Ntim Fodjour is not something to be taken lightly or treated with levity,” he added.
He added that, this is a very serious issue, and the nation need to examine it thoroughly and resolve it once and for all instead of politicizing it.
Mr. Asante urged the Assin South MP to cooperate with the appropriate security agencies by providing credible information to help verify the claims.
