Sebastien Haller sent host Ivory Coast into the Africa Cup of Nations final as they beat Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 in Wednesday’s semi-finl at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic stadium.
After looking like they would be eliminated after the group stage and having fired their coach Jean-Louis Gasset, the Ivory Coast managed to sneak into the knockout stages and make it all the way to the Cup of Nations tournament’s decisive game.
Ivorians Will Now Be Excited About Their Chances Of Reaching The Final
Haller’s 65th-minute goal proceeded with the exceptional recuperation by the Ivorians, who will now take on Nigeria in Sunday’s decider.
Nigeria also beat South Africa on penalties in Wednesday’s other semi-final game in Bouake.
