16-year-old Jack Porter played in Arsenal’s starting lineup against Bolton on Wednesday September 24.
The high school goalkeeper becomes the youngest starting player for Arsenal.
For Arsenal’s Carabao Cup game with Bolton on Wednesday, manager Mikel Arteta selected several senior stars, including Raheem Sterling and Declan Rice. However, he also selected three 17-year-olds and the 16-year-old Porter.
In July of this year, Jack Porter turned 16 years old. He is now the youngest player to ever start a competitive game for the Gunners, breaking a previous record.

That record had recently been held by Cesc Fabregas, who began his first Arsenal game only 72 days after his sixteenth birthday celebration in 2003.
Porter was given No. 92 as his jersey number ahead of his first-team debut.
Although Porter is Arsenal’s second-youngest player, he is the youngest starter in the club’s history.
Porter, who signed with Arsenal in 2020, has represented England in both the U16 and U17 tournaments.
