The English No 1, who climbed to a profession high 60 recently, demonstrated areas of strength for excessively world No 81 Diane Repel, winning 6-4 6-0 on Court 6.

The 27-year-old crunched 31 wins as she cleared aside her opponent in an hour and 22 minutes to rise to WTA 53rd temporarily.

Boulter showed her confidence on the big stage by saving a break point as she served for the match, prior to polishing Repel off with a 106mph ace.

Boulter was satisfied with the level of her performance after easing past Diane Repel to get her historic win at the US Open.
