After 11 years as creative director of LVMH stablemate Loewe, a smaller label he helped revitalize, Jonathan Anderson has now joined Dior..At the group’s annual meeting with shareholders on Thursday April 17, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault announced that Anderson would design the June collection for Dior Men’s Fashion.
A new generation of leading designers is taking over some of the largest fashion names in the world, including Anderson, 40, whose departure from LVMH’s smaller company Loewe was announced on March 17.
Anderson is the replacement for Kim Jones, who debuted his last Dior men’s collection in January of this year. Due to China’s real estate crisis and growing costs that have discouraged consumers from spending money on new fashion, the industry is experiencing some of its slowest growth in recent memory.
During his time with the Spanish label, Anderson is recognized for elevating Loewe’s image by winning over fashion reviewers with his unique and eccentric designs.
Having created the costumes for “Challengers” and “Queer” in 2024, Anderson’s artistic scope has also expanded to the movie industry. For his work at Loewe and his own brand JW Anderson, the Irishman has garnered numerous accolades, including British Designer of the Year in 2023 and 2024.
