Jordan’s monarchy sealed the position of its 28-year-old crown prince with this luxurious wedding that pulled in worldwide sovereignty, including the Prince and Princess of Wales from the United Kingdom, and even the US first Lady, Jill Biden.
The grand event was aimed to fortify the succession plan and move past a painful family scandal, positioning Crown Prince Hussein and his new wife, Rajwa Alseif, as a symbol of unity and bolstering Amman’s complex relationship with its wealthier neighbor, Saudi Arabia.
The Zahran Palace in Amman served as the location for King Abdullah II’s own wedding to Queen Rania in 1993. Crown Prince Hussein, an alum of the UK’s Sandhurst military institute, wore military clothing, sitting close by his dad. In a white gown and diamond tiara, Rajwa arrived in a vintage Rolls-Royce, adding a touch of class to the event.
