
Joyce Bawah Mogtari has been named President John Dramani Mahama’s Special Aide and Presidential Advisor.
Bawa brings a wealth of experience to the table as the former Deputy Minister of Transportation from 2013 to 2017.
Mrs. Mogtari is expected to support President Mahama and offer strategic advice in her new position. She will also support the administration’s initiatives to improve operational effectiveness and governance.
As a lawyer with mediation experience, Joyce Bawah Mogtari has served as a mediator on multiple occasions both domestically and Internationally.
She is a graduate of the University of London’s Holborn College, where she earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in 1997. She also received the IMO Legal Committee Chairman’s Award for Best Overall Performance in International Transport Law while earning her master’s degree in maritime law (L.L.M.) from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) in Malta.

Additionally, Bawa Mogtari has a master’s degree in mediation and conflict resolution from Ghana’s Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center. In the 2016 General Elections, she served as the spokesperson for President John Mahama’s campaign.
