Kamala Harris Will Run A Big Campaign At Her Alma Mater

As the U.S. elections get closer, the Vice President and Democratic nominee for president Kamala Harris is expected to run a campaign on November 5, 2024, at her alma mater.

Some insiders who plan Harris’ tours say she will spend the night at Howard University in Washington, where she went to school.

Although the precise campus location may change, the campaign’s election night event is likely to take place in the Quad.

The university where Harris earned her bachelor’s degree is being considered by Harris’ campaign as a possible location for her election night headquarters, according to reports.

Harris recalled

“So many fond memories” from when she attended the university, which she referred to by its nickname, “The Mecca” in a letter that was published this month by the student newspaper “The Hilltop.”

“I recognize my time at Howard shaped me into the person I am today. At Howard, we learn that we have the capacity to be great and also that we have the responsibility to work hard to live up to that potential each day,” Harris wrote.

In 1986, she pledged to Alpha Kappa Alpha, Howard’s first historically Black sorority.

Harris does not frequently campaign in Washington. On the day that she was supposed to deliver remarks on the Ellipse near the White House, she announces her plans for election night.
