Kim Kardashian Offered To Buy OJ Simpson’s Bible, But Was Turned Down. Now, It’s Been Sold To Someone Else

The Bible was given to Simpson by the late Robert Kardashian Sr. on June 18, 1994, the day after the former NFL player was arrested after an infamous Ford Bronco chase in Los Angeles, and it was described as a “token of friendship and support during a tumultuous period” of Simpson’s life when he was on trial for the 1994 murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

The book received 49 bids before going to a winner Saturday night.

“OJ … This book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book everyday. God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again. I love you and God loves you,” the attorney wrote on the inside.

“Robert G. Kardashian” is also inscribed in gold on the book’s cover.

Kim Kardashian, 44, tried to buy the heirloom before it went up for auction earlier this month but was turned down.

“Why would I spend $15,000 in attorney’s fees — to sell it to Kim for $15,000?” Malcolm LaVergne, the executor of Simpson’s estate, told People at the time.

“That’s a zero-sum game. That’s a bad business model. If Kim had offered $150,000 for it, we would’ve been in court getting this approved outside of the auction,” he added.

During the high-profile murder trial in the 1990s, Simpson’s defense team included Kim’s late father, Robert.

The former Buffalo Bills player was ultimately acquitted of the 1995 murders of Goldman and his ex-wife.

Given that Brown Simpson was acquainted with Robert’s ex-wife Kris Jenner, the trial caused division in the family.

“If Kim had offered $150,000 for it, we would’ve been in court getting this approved outside of the auction,” LaVergne added.
